Luis and I enjoyed Celine Dion's Taking Chances Tour here in Dallas.
Needless to say, I purchased tickets in March '08. I would like to say I was the first in line but sadly, I wasn't. As much as I wanted to take the day off, stay home and run around the house due to my excitement, I didn't. When the time came to go and sit back to enjoy the beautiful sound of her voice, I was ready.
Prior to leaving the house for the concert, Lexie had a little excitement of her own. She managed to tear up a brand new pee pad. I wonder if she thought it was unfair not to let her go.
The day was not quite as beautiful and sunny, it was rather cold, wet and frosty. While I parked and waited for Luis to get out of the office, I snapped a picture of this frosty tree. It had rained throughout the day so every branch was perfectly coated with icicles.
We grabbed a quick dinner at Mi Cocina, but seriously who could eat when they are a couple of hours away from listening and watching Celine Dion perform? Me! Here we are waiting at our seats at the American Airlines Center. I was filled with excitement!
Finally, after an hour of Gordie Brown opening up for her, it was time, drum roll pls....
I was in awe when the show was over. Celine's performance was absolutely amazing! I can sit through it for another 2.5 hrs if I could. Her next stop was Houston and I remember asking Luis if we could go. After seeing her performance in Vegas, then Dallas, he was not all gung ho about travelling 4 hrs to see her perform again. The opportunity to go and watch her by myself was up for grabs but I didn't grab it. Rather, I chose to order her Las Vegas: A New Day dvd.
I am sure to get in line again if she stops here, but until then, I have her dvd and cd's to get me through.
